We Finish 8th: Season Wrap

Wow! so close to getting to Europe, by merit this time, we only had to beat Liverpool in the last game of the season since Fulham pretty much lost to the Toffees, and we had beaten Liverpool before, twice I might add. Ofcourse a hat trick of wins over the Merseysiders is a bit asking too much, so we went down heroically at Anfield 3:1. But, it wasnt all lost, Robbie Keane the Spurs prodigal son was on the score sheet putting one past his former colleagues and making Benitez eat his heart out. Personally, I think the decision to sell Keane cost Rafael the title and brought us back to glory the best way we know how, winning.

As we celebrate this great feat, let us look back at the greatest matches played by the lilywhites this season.
Bitter North London rivals Arsenal were unable to beat us at all this season going 4:4 at Emirates and then 0:0 at White Hart Lane. Both matches were incredible, fantastic football, well deserved points.
Chelsea: Our London neighbours were beaten at the Lane 1:0 with a fabulous strike from our resident Croatian midfielding maestro Luka Modric. A first and only loss for Chelsea under the legendary manager, Guus Hiddink.
Ofcourse Liverpool lost twice at the Lane in the first leg a lucky 2:1 and an impressive 4:2 in the run up to the Carling cup.
Worth to note that Tottenham were only beaten once at White Hart lane in 2009 which was to Blackburn.
Other clubs that have been buried at The Lane include the relegated three. Boro 4:0, Newcastle 1:0 and West Brom 1:0. Additional teams include Aston Villa, Man City, Stoke..you get the drift.

Manchester United caused us the greatest distress this season as would be expected. 0:0 at the Lane. They beat us on penalties to take the Carling cup in a game we could have easily won and then the greatest defeat this season; 2:0 up at Old Trafford by half time then they bring in everyone in the 2nd half and I mean everyone. Tevez, Berbatov, Rooney, Ronaldo, Giggs, Carrick, Scholes all playing together, not even Barcelona got this. Anyway, final result 5:2 unbelievable.

All in all it has been a great season an improvement I might add. All praise to Harry Redknapp and his team. Worth to mention Aaron Lennon, Luka Modric, Wilson Palacios, Benoit Assou Ekotto, King, Woodgate, Keane, Bent, Defoe. Stay at the Lane.
